1.Several national African-American Unschooler and Homeschooler events are scheduled for this year. Do you and your
family plan on attending any of the events?
From Erika Davis-Pitre: Yes. We are very fortunate to be
going to the Grand Canyon for the 2004 African-American Homeschoolers Family & Friends Vacation in June. It will be three
wonderful days camping and connecting with a great group of people that already feel like family. I also hope to attend the
first ever African-American homeschoolers picnic in Pennsylvania this summer. And I am hoping to connect with some of the
Tri-state African-American Homeschoolers (NY,CT & NJ) for some fieldtrips this year as well. If anyone is going to be
in New England(CT, MA, ME, NH, RI or VT) on vacation this summer or fall, please drop me a line at davpitok@juno.com. I would
love to meet you and your family.

2. Do you plan on attending any Unschooling or Homeschooling Conferences this year? Have you in the past?
From
Erika Davis-Pitre: We have already attended several conferences in the Northeast this spring. I usually always attend
my state conference(they always get some great national speakers), but I am going to miss my state conference this year because
it is the same weekend as the Grand Canyon Trip. And for the summer, I am planning on attending the 2004 Live and Learn Unschooling
Conference that will take place in Peabody, Massachusetts (near Boston) August 27-29 at the Mariott Hotel. Their website
is at www.LiveandLearnConference.org. I have wanted to attend this annual national unschooling conference for years but never
made it because it was always so far away from me(last year it was in South Carolina). This year it is less than 2 hours away
from my home so no excuses for me! If you are going, drop me a line at davpitok@juno.com and let me know so we can meet up.
Also I would encourage you all to find out when and where your state conferences are and attend them with your families.
